1st Challenges and perspectives of IT in education meeting in Acomayo, Cusco, Peru
Where is Acomayo and what were my impressions?
Acomayo is the capital of the province of the same name in the Department of Cusco, Peru. It is a small town about 4 hours from the city of Cusco.
It is a small district with the typical landscapes of the Peruvian Andes, a very quiet and pleasant place.
To get there I had to take a bus from the city of Cusco at 7:00 am and get off at the Chuquicahuana bridge and take a car to get to Acomayo on time and then I show you some photos of the road.
1er Congreso Provincial: Retos y perspectivas de la TIC en Educación 2018
This congress was held between July 18 and 20, was organized by the IESPP Acomayo
In this congress I spoke about Free Software and I had the opportunity to show Icaro and SoaS (Sugar on a Stick) the spin with which Sugar can be had so that education students could experiment.
What caught my attention was that the realization of this congress was done with little budget and the students had to bring a kilo of corn from their house to make the refreshments :-)
After the congress I was able to walk a little bit through the streets of Acomayo and I returned to my house.
Conclusiones y reflexiones finales
The first conclusion we reach is that our objectives can be achieved despite the lack of resources, as did the organizers of this small event in such a remote place and with the collection of their students.
The second thing is that I think that the Fedora Community should be projected more towards society and not only limited to the technical / technological scope.
Finally, we must reactivate and support projects such as Icaro and SoaS because they are the instruments with which we can reach society and generate collaborators.
